(August 1, 2005 - www.mb.com.ph) - Software industry veteran Fermin Taruc has been named Managing Director of Gurango Software, the first and only full-service support system for Independent Solution Vendors (ISVs) in the Microsoft Business Solution (MBS) global eco-system. In this capacity, Taruc is charged with developing the company’s three business areas, targeting the needs of ISV’s from North America to Europe. Taruc sees this appointment as another unique opportunity to showcase Filipino IT and management talent in the international marketplace. Taruc previously served as president and chief operating officer of Jupiter Systems, Inc. where he was instrumental in the company’s expansion into the US, China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand markets. During Taruc’s term, Jupiter Systems also received several recognitions including the Microsoft Packaged Application of the Year Award, the Golden Shell Rising Star Citation for Product and Marketing Excellence and the IDC Local Software Hero Citation. He is currently president of the Philippines Software Industry Association, with over 60 member companies representing the critical mass of the local software industry in terms of revenue growth and employment generation.
