Outsource2Philippines undertakes both sponsored and independent research meant to assist ITES investors in evaluating the attractiveness of the Philippines as an investment location. The results of the firm’s initial research initiatives are expected to be available beginning in April, 2005. Interim assessments may be available upon inquiry.

Industry Studies
Annual ITES sector studies are designed to credibly determine investment, employment, and revenue generation and to forecast prospects in the medium term. They are meant to provide factual information on the true state of the Philippines ITES sectors, and the emerging position of the Philippines as an attractive destination for ITES investment.

Fly High: Philippine Software Industry 2010. A study conducted by the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) and the Commission on Information & Communications Technology (CICT), with the support of Microsoft Philippines that identifies action items required to stimulate growth of the Philippine software sector.

Economic Development Survey: The Philippine Software Industry. A study was conducted during March 2005, aimed at gaining information regarding the Philippines software industry, both present and five years into the future.

Industry Surveys
Quarterly industry surveys are undertaken to assess the perspective of key senior managers in the ITES sectors. Topics include HR issues, re-investment, capital spending, market developments, and outsourcing trends.

First Quarter 2008 Social Weather Survey: National proficiency in English recovers. The Social Weather Survey for the First Quarter of 2008 was conducted during March 30- April 2, 2008 using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults divided into random samples of 300 each in Metro Manila, the Balance of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao (sampling error margins of ±3% for national percentages and ±6% for area percentages). The area estimates were weighted by National Statistics Office medium-population projections for 2008 to obtain the national estimates

BPA/P - O2P Periodic Survey: Attrition and Hiring Rates. An informal, online survey conducted by Outsource2Philippines and the Business Processing Association of the Philippines found that turnover is lower and hiring rates higher in ITES sectors than generally presumed by the industry and observers.

BPA/P - O2P Periodic Survey 2: Constraints to Growth. The survey, Constraints to Growth, was conducted from June 5 to June 21, 2006. It was available exclusively online. A total of 171 senior executives representing a broad cross-section of the outsourcing industry were invited to respond. A total of 40 respondents, or 23.4% percent, participated in the survey. The survey could be taken only once per workstation, and the results do not include three partial completions and two bank completed surveys submitted.

BPA/P - O2P Periodic Survey 3: The Business Environment. The survey, The Business Environment, was conducted from September 12 to September 25, 2007. It was available exclusively online. A total of 351 invitations were sent to senior executives representing a broad cross-section of the outsourcing industry. A total of 72 respondents, or 21% percent, participated in the survey. The survey could be taken only once per workstation, and the results do not include four partial completions.

BPA/P - O2P Periodic Survey 4: Impact of the Peso's Appreciation on O&O Companies in the Philippines. The survey was sent to 276 members of BPA/P representing the following sectors: contact centers, BPO providers, software companies, transcription service firms, engineering services companies, and service providers to these sectors. The survey was conducted from February 4-20, 2008, and a total of 62 responses were received, providing a 22.5% response rate. Response rate was representative of the industry, with both very large and small firms participating.
